This course is suited to the beginner with no experience as a make-up artist, there are no pre-requisites for this course - just your passion!

You will learn the foundation skills which you need to start your career as a make-up artist. In order to complete your training as a make-up artist, you will need to also take our Advanced Make-Up Artist Certificate or gain the advantage of receiving full traing as well as a set of professional make-up brushes and an airbrushed picture for your portfolio, by enrolling in our Professional Make-Up Artist Certificate.

The course will cover the following in detail:

Make-Up Artist Health & Safety

This is to ensure that you follow health and safety procedures to avoid cross contamination and to ensure that you are seen as a professional by who ever you are working with.

Skin Preparation

You will understand the different skin types and how to set your basic foundation for an excellent make-up application.

Foundation Selection & Application

This will teach you how to determine which type of foundation is needed for different skin types, colour matching, mixing colours and application.

Creating Flawless Skin

You will learn the colour corrective and camouflage techniques to hide dark circles, spots, discolourations and blemishes to create flawless looking skin. In learning these principles, you will be able to apply both male and female make-up.

Eyes & Eyebrows

This covers all aspects of eye & eyebrow make-up - eye shadow application and blending, liquid and pencil eye liners, mascara, smokey eyes, false eyelashes (full strips and individual lashes), eye brow defining and shaping.

You will gain product knowledge alongside the practical skills so that you know what type to use for yours and your client's needs.

Lips

This covers the techniques behind applying precise, long lasting and even lip colour. It also covers ways in which to enhance lip shapes and the highly precision red lips.

Assessment

You will be asked to create 1 look based on the skills you have learnt. You will receive our one to one attention so that you receive honest feedback in order to make you the best make-up artist you can be.

Your assessment is not there to catch you out, but instead will prove that you are ready to launch your career as a professional make-up artist. Most make-up courses only provide a certificate for simply attending, but our assessments mean that your certificate actually means you are good at what you do. You can take it to any employer or client, and give them instant confidence in your skills and abilities.
