How old do I have to be to take the courses? We only accept students who are aged 16 years or over. Will I get a discount if I take multiple courses? Yes, we often give our students discounted rates if they have been a past student of one of our courses or if they book multiple courses at the same time. Our discounts vary depending on the number of courses you have taken with us, so please contact us for more information. Can international students enrol on ANYA courses? We welcome students from all over the world, but it is essential that you have a good grasp of the English language, spoken and written, to really benefit from our courses. If you are not confident in your English, please contact us, and we will be happy to help. What do I need to bring to the courses? What you need to bring to each course depends on the course itself. Some of our practical courses require you to bring a model with you, this is, someone who is willing to have their hair and make-up done by you. Others may not require you to bring anyone or anything other than yourself. We will always give you all the information you need after you have made your booking. What happens if I need to cancel my booking? All of our students pay a 50% deposit to secure their booking. This means that you are guaranteed your place on your chosen course at your chosen/given date and time. If you need to cancel within 3 weeks of the course's start date, unfortunately we are unable to refund your deposit, as we will have turned away other students from the course in order to keep your place open for you. You may however, re-schedule your training date for a future date when we will run the same course for an additional £10 administration fee. How are payments made? The majority of students pay their deposit via PayPal, a secure online payment system (www.paypal.com) and the remainder of the balance on the day of the course with cash or cheque. Unfortunately we cannot accept credit or debit card payments.
I am scared of exams, do I have to take the assessment? Firstly, there is nothing scary about our assessments. They take place in a relaxed environment and only cover aspects which you have learnt. Our courses are extremely practical, so by the time your assessment arrives, you will already have had a lot of practical experience, so it really will not be very daunting at all. The purpose of them is not to catch you out but to prove to us and yourself that you are ready to go out there and start your career as a make-up artist and/or hair stylist. If you really do not want to take your assessment, we won't force you to however, it will mean that we will be unable to give you your certificate. What happens if I fail my assessment? In the unlikely event that you fail your assessment, we can arrange an alternative date for you to retake it, for £20. Regardless of whether you pass or fail, we will always give you detailed feedback so that you are fully aware of where you are strong and any areas of weakness. |
